Morning in bed with coffee, books and hugging boys. Followed by another (nearly) 10K run—felt and ran better than yesterday. Then a short walk, with a little chase play, for the boys. Lazy, hot afternoon. Capped off with another evening spent in the cool river water with Chewie and Dudley. All ready to crash now. Happy! 🙂
That was the number on the weighing scale yesterday morning – 85.2 Kg.
A full 10 Kg above target racing weight, and over 6 Kg over the pre-injury weight.
Cutting edge fusion food.
Assembled from whatever was in the fridge to feed the growling post swim tummy. It was quite tasty.
Starting with the sad.
Pal passed away last night :'(
Smiley was old, and had done a long and loving stint making the world happy. Pal was just getting started. He was young, handsome, joyous, huge, and lovely. I’m sad. Can’t even fathom how Joanne and her family are coping.
I’m missing Pal :(
So, Chewie is getting extra hugs, treats and kisses today.
Natural water has always held the magical power to cure. Somehow or other, it transmits its own self-regenerating powers to swimmers. I can dive in with a long face and what feels like a terminal case of depression, and come out a whistling idiot.
