Five checkmark day
Ran, walked the boys, went to B&Q, did some garden work, and chores around the house.
I’m dead now.
Five checkmark day & week
Long sleep; morning in bed with a book Bruno and Chewie; an hour running around Guildford; lazy afternoon on the sofa with the book, the phone, Bruno and Chewie; short evening walk with all three boys; and I’m already back in the bed.
Happy, productive, tiring 5 checkmark week.
Almost a five checkmark day
Morning in bed with coffee, books and hugging boys. Followed by another (nearly) 10K run—felt and ran better than yesterday. Then a short walk, with a little chase play, for the boys. Lazy, hot afternoon. Capped off with another evening spent in the cool river water with Chewie and Dudley. All ready to crash now. Happy! 🙂
Five check mark day
A good, early sleep; (nearly) 5 mile run with lots of swims for the boys; lazy afternoon; evening barbeque; two ice creams. It was a good, happy, lazy, tiring day.
5 check mark day
Last one was more than two months ago; I was more than two kilos lighter and much fitter.
Hopefully I won’t wait another 2+ months for another.
Books in 2020
I’ve read 20 books so far this year. Unlike most years, it’s been a weirdly clustered bunch.
3 Harry Potter books, and counting
3 Fredrik Backman books,
2 Hemingway books,
2 John Steinbeck books,
2 John L Parker Jr books, and
3 running related books (not including the 2 John Parker books).
That’s 15 of 20 books I’ve read so far. I’m guessing it’ll be 19 of 24 before the month is over.
Also, unlike most years, my reading list this year is loaded with fiction. Usually there’s an almost even split.
Two 5 check mark days in a row!
A five check mark day
It’s been a long time since I had one of these. 2 months lost to injury, 2 before that lost to over training, over work, and lots of anxiety.
I slept well last night. Woke up and solved a cube in bed. Then walked around singing aloud. Did 8 and a bit pull-ups. Finished reading about Quentin Cassidy’s latest race. Ran; down to the river, across to Shalford and back, and up the hill; in the heat. Did a bunch of chores around the house. Did 5 pull-ups. Spent a few hours gardening. Spoke to parents. Drank a lot of liquid (not counting milk, tea and coffee).
It was a good day. Fully deserved those 5 check marks.
Should’ve saved that Magnum ice cream bar for today.
Strong women #324
El diablo susurro en mi oído,
no eres lo suficientemente fuerte
para resistir la tormenta.
Yo le susurré al oído,
“YO SOY LA TORMENTA”

The devil whispered in my ear,
you are not strong enough
to resist the storm.
I whispered in his ear,
“I AM THE STORM”
