One expensive ice-cream

Ate a full Cornetto ice-cream yesterday + froze all night with R hogging the throw and Chewie taking the blanket = a day wasted to tinnitus.

Spent most of the day blankly staring at the screen, not knowing what to do. Took me ages to update and merge PRs that I’d probably made in less time last week. Bailed out of the only meeting I had. Took a long walk and a short nap in the lunch break. Head’s still ringing.

Met a friend on the afternoon walk who pointed out that the crickets were chirping all around. Told him they chirp all the time in my head. And like for him, they were really loud for me too today.

Status.

Text to R this morning:

I don’t want to go run in this freezing cold.
I just want too snuggle up with the warm bachcha, hot chocolate, hot samosas and watch Gilmore girls.

After a good interval running session in freezing cold:

I’m the next Kipchoge. I’m the new Mary Kitane. I can beat Shelly Ann Fraser Price. David Rudisha is me. Mo Farah wants to be me!

Hormones and all that stuff …  :)

Wuss, moi.

I planned the run in my head.

I got dressed in running gear.

I started the warm-up routine.

….

Then I felt too cold.

The head was full of excitement from a breakthrough in the morning’s work.

Chewie was still wrapped up in bed.

But mainly, I felt too cold.

So I chickened out of the run. I changed back into home clothes. And am now back at work.

Wuss, moi.

The law of conservation of inertia

I want to do all these things right now:

  1. Stay in bed with Chewie staying sprawled over my lap, and finish reading the book
  2. Go to my workstation, and start working

  3. Go for Saturday run

  4. Go shit

Law of conservation of inertia states that I’ll stay in the state I’m in.

I can confirm that Newton and Galileo were correct 📖🐶💤🛌😀
