El sol

Hace mucho calor para mis chicos, pero esta perfectamente para mis flores.
Wake-up with the second or the third alarm, and start doing ankle stretches—10x each of 4 side stretches. Chewie senses my feet moving, and starts snuggling-up tighter, while also turning his belly up. So, the ankle stretches are quickly followed by a couple of minutes of belly rubs, snuggles and kisses.
Then I get off the bed, and do a small set of yoga stretches on the floor—10x lower back stretches, 10x cat stretches, a couple of baby stretches, down dogs and roll-ups. Chewie occasionally joins me for the stretches, though many days he just stays sprawled on the bed.
After the floor stretches, I kick him off the bed, and make the bed—not as well as him, but I do.
Only after that, do we head downstairs to drink water, make coffee, feed Chewie, and take him out for his morning business. I’m wide awake before the coffee is ready.
Dudley has an untamable need to mark the same spots as Chewie.
Dudley is also too impatient to wait till Chewie has finished marking.
Dudley also happens to be shorter than Chewie.
The result of all this is that, a lot of the time Dudley himself ends up getting marked by Chewie 😂
Spring is definitely* my favourite season in the UK. Lots of colour, lots of freshness, lots of new lives (leaves, rabbits, dear), and the trails have not yet been taken over by nettles and thorns.
Spring > Autumn > Summer = Winter
It’s noon.
I have done 2.5 hours of deep, productive work.
I have run 5 miles.
I have showered, and had lunch.
I have spent half an hour hugging the boy on the sofa.
I am back at the work table for the second session.
It’s just noon.
This is turning out to be a good day. Yesterday was a good day too. Perhaps the March sadness really is behind me :)
