Someone out there doesn’t want me to eat…
Someone out there doesn’t want me to eat healthy.
For lunch today:
Went to Subway – it had been burgled and was under renovation
Went to Waitrose’s Salad Bar – cleaned out except for potatoes and tomatoes
Went to Sandwich sections at Greggs & M&S – barely half a dozen variants available, none appealing.
Finally, gave up and picked up a Big Mac from McDonalds. Made it without cheese :|
Friends are not welcome.
They come for short visits, surround me with happy vibes, make me feel good, make me a social animal.
Then they leave, off to get lost in their busy lives, leaving me behind to wallow in my new-again loneliness.
It’s too hard. Not doing it again. All invitations now stand withdrawn.

I can understand the frustrations of youth from poor neighbourhoods in a govt led by elitist, rich white men.
What I can’t understand is how destroying buses and looting small businesses in poor neighbourhoods improves their lot.
Protest, yes. Go out and stage a march of thousands outside the parliament every day till the government relents.
Rioting & looting, no. Just NO.

Love the rain in LDN these days – it pours well, more like the monsoon back home than the dreary, fickly drizzle this city usually gets.
I love the sun – always have, but more so in LDN since I know I’ll soon be spending months in a row begging for a good sight of it.
The rain, accompanied by those loud thunderstorms and lightening, wrecked my plans for a century ride to Brighton today. Still, finding it really hard to diss it. In fact, wishing for some more… rather lots more… before a dry day tomorrow :)
The 2nd worst day!
I’m sad. Today’s the second worst day of this year. Why? Because after today, the days start becoming shorter :(
Slowly but surely these post 9pm sunsets will be gone. Soon after, we’ll have those horrible, depressing, short, grey days with the sun setting before 4. And it will get cold. And wet. And I won’t be able to cycle any more. Shit. I hate this day.
Of course, this is only the 2nd worst day. The worst day is the shortest one, Dec 21/22. The trough of a crazy winter. At least there’s a little hope that the days become longer after that.
I hate this… if I win the lottery, I shall emigrate to New Zealand every autumn equinox and return to London around the spring equinox. Now, all I have to do is buy that lottery ticket. So, how much is the euro lottery’s pot at this week?
The Mayor added that the situation he found…
The Mayor added that the situation he found himself in was typically British. “I am proud to be British. No other country or culture in the world would have a situation where the mayor of the host city goes into a ballot for tickets for his family and gets rejected.”
He joked: “I suspect Locog has done this deliberately to cheer up everyone else.”
Don’t even try this as a joke with a politician in India!

Just realised that even the marked ‘Live’ news on BBC is sometimes delayed by at least 15 minutes.
Barack Obama’s convoy passed in front of me as I was cycling back from Marylebone some time back and BBC News is showing it on TV right now as Live news.
In other news, cycled to High Wycombe today – only 60kms but about 500m climbing over 2-3 spots. Didn’t have the time or energy to cycle back. Really need to work on my climbing muscles :|

Can hear the piano music as it wafts into the room. The neighbours seem to be welcoming me back to LDN.

All day I built up my resolve to return to cycling.
All evening the wind has been building up, daring me to go out.
